Volunteer Terms and Conditions
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with our nonprofit instructional program. By volunteering with us, you are contributing to our mission of providing a meaningful curriculum and employment experience for young adults with learning differences. These Terms and Conditions outline the responsibilities and expectations for all volunteers. Please read them carefully before agreeing to participate.
1. Eligibility Requirements
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
A passion for education and a commitment to fostering success among young adults with learning differences is required.
Suitable candidates may include, but are not limited to, parents, college students, retired teachers, and other community members.
2. Commitment
Volunteers are expected to commit to a period of 6-12 months, based on their availability.
Volunteer opportunities are available on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis.
Consistency is essential to ensure stability and positive outcomes for our students.
3. Training and Onboarding
Volunteers are required to attend a training session before beginning their duties. Training sessions are hosted quarterly.
After your application is processed, you will be able to select a training session that fits your schedule.
Upon completion of training, you will gain access to our volunteer app, where you can sign up for shifts and tasks.
4. Background Check
All volunteers must undergo a background check to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
A link to complete the background check will be sent to your email prior to your scheduled training date.
Volunteers are responsible for promptly completing the background check process.
5. Volunteer Responsibilities
Uphold the mission and values of our program by demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and respect at all times.
Follow the curriculum and guidelines provided during training.
Communicate any scheduling conflicts or absences as soon as possible through the volunteer app.
Respect the confidentiality and privacy of students and their families.
6. Code of Conduct
Volunteers must maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students.
Discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
Volunteers must adhere to the policies and procedures outlined during training.
7. Liability and Insurance
Volunteers participate at their own risk. While we strive to maintain a safe environment, the organization is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during volunteer activities.
Volunteers are not employees and are not entitled to compensation, benefits, or insurance coverage through the organization.
8. Termination of Volunteer Agreement
The organization reserves the right to terminate a volunteer’s participation at any time if the terms and conditions are not upheld or if their behavior is deemed unsuitable.
Volunteers may also choose to discontinue their participation at any time but are encouraged to provide notice to ensure smooth operations.
9. Use of Volunteer Information
Personal information collected during the application process will be used solely for managing the volunteer program and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Volunteer contact details may be used to communicate updates, scheduling changes, or organizational announcements.
10. Acknowledgment and Agreement By participating in our volunteer program, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these Terms and Conditions. Your contribution helps sustain our impactful program and supports the success of our students and community.
